We are excited to be hosting Roberto Borrell for a special workshop, an introduction to Afro-Cuban Folkloric Dance, with special emphasis on dances for the oricha Ochún that RCR will be dancing for in the San Francisco Carnaval Parade this year. The workshop is open to all dancers.

Born and raised in Cuba, Roberto Borrell began his career in dance with the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional in Havana at the age of 18. With more than 55 years of teaching experience and a lifetime of knowledge of about both Afro-Cuban and Cuban Popular music, Roberto is a master percussionist, dancer, and teacher, and an invaluable resource to dancers and musicians in the Bay Area.
