Ryan Mead is returning from the Spring 2017 Rueda Con Ritmo Dance Study Trip in Cuba with lots of new moves to share with us.
Please join us at The Working Body on Saturday, May 13th for three hours of Son, Casino and Rueda.
Pre-registration has closed but you can still join the workshops (bring cash or check to the door): $15 one class / $25 two classes / $35 all three
1:45pm Son de Santiago (Int - Adv)
Son is beautiful and elegant, simple in movements but sophisticated in rhythm and style. It is a primary root of Salsa and Casino, and many of the best dancers incorporate movements, turns, timing, and style from Son. In this class we'll briefly review some fundamental steps and movements before moving on to more intermediate and advanced patterns.
2:45pm Intermediate All Stars' Salsa and Rueda de Casino
(To attend this class you must have completed Level 2 of the RCR curriculum)
3:45pm Advanced All Stars' Salsa and Rueda de Casino
Jorge Luna Roque, the director of the All Stars, is nothing short of a Casino genius. While remaining true to the traditions and spirit of the dance, he has developed a unique, intricate, dynamic style that is as challenging as it is fun. In the final class, Ryan will show us his favorite Advanced moves that he learned from Jorge this spring.
(To attend this class you must have completed Level 3 of the RCR curriculum.)
All three classes will be held at The Working Body, 399 Grand Avenue, Oakland.
Hope to see you all there!
