For details please see ODC’s announcement here.

Salsa Workout and Body Movement (All levels)

In this highly energetic class we explore some of the roots and relatives of Salsa in Rumba, Son, Mambo, Cha-cha-chá, Conga, Afro-Cuban folkloric dance and more! Through isolations we gain strength, flexibility and articulate expression throughout the entire body, beginning with the core. We warm up with basic salsa footwork and move on to explore more complex rhythmic variations, stylistic embellishments and related dance styles building towards completing the class with a dynamic and fun choreography.

Your first class at the ODC is just $9! Drop-in is $18 per class, multiple class discount cards are also available for as low as $14/class. ODC’s Arts Access Program (50% off classes) is available for those who qualify and complete the application.

Carnaval Rehearsals (starting April 7th)

Please join Ryan and Rueda Con Ritmo for our 10th year dancing in Carnaval San Francisco! RCR will be dancing Cuban Salsa/Casino, Conga, and other bailes populares in the parade this year. The overall theme for Carnaval San Francisco is “La Cultura Cura / Culture Heals.”

We are offering TWO Carnaval Rehearsals every Sunday, beginning April 7th through the parade on May 26th. From 2:30 to 4:00pm is our primary rehearsal, open to Beginning and Intermediate level dancers, and then from 4:00 to 5:30pm we will have an Advanced-level workshop. Both groups will be dancing to the same music, but the choreography in the second rehearsal will be slightly more complex with more of our signature rhythmic accents, more partner changing, more challenging vueltas, and new, more intricate configurations and patterns of movement. All dancers should attend the 2:30pm Beginning/Intermediate rehearsal unless given prior permission to attend the 4:00pm Advanced rehearsal.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

April 7th through May 19th, $17 drop-in, $105 ($15/class) for 7-week series.

There is an additional $40 parade entrance fee. Dancers also cover the cost of their own costumes, approximately $100.

There will be three outdoor rehearsals at CCSF: Saturdays on May 11th, 18th, and 25th (1 to 3pm) - $10 for each Saturday rehearsal.

Parade is on Sunday, May 26th.
