Friday, March 20th we’ll be celebrating Or’s Birthday!

RCR’s weekly Friday classes and Cuban Salsa Dance Party are at Mars Bar once a month, every 3rd Friday, but in March we’ll be at Mars Bar TWICE, the 2nd and 3rd Fridays, March 13th and 20th.

Beginners are welcome in all Level 1 classes, and we are now offering three separate classes at both 6:00pm and 7:15pm at Mars, just like we do at MNC. Here’s the schedule:

6:00 - 7:00pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 1) — register as a follower — register as a leader

6:00 - 7:00pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 3) — register as a follower — register as a leader

6:00 - 7:00pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 4) — register as a follower — register as a leader

7:15 - 8:15pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 2) — register as a follower — register as a leader

7:15 - 8:15pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 3) — register as a follower — register as a leader

7:15 - 8:15pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 4) — register as a follower — register as a leader

8:15pm Open dancing with DJ Ritmo — free with any class, otherwise $5 - 10 (sliding scale, cash or Venmo)

Registration for the above classes will open on the previous Saturday (6 days before).

Mars has a full bar and kitchen — they usually have drink specials for salsa class and party attendees.

We will still be offering our regular 7:30pm class at ODC (as we do every Friday):

FRIDAY AT ODC, 7:30 - 8:30pm Cuban Salsa & Rueda (Level 1) — To register please visit the ODC website, then scroll down to the calendar and select the date and then the class. ODC is located at 351 Shotwell St.

Have you ever wondered about switching off between leading and following in the same song? Rueda con Ritmo is hosting two 1.5-hour workshops with Or Gadish on Sunday, March 22nd at the Mission Neighborhood Center in San Francisco:

1. Crash Course in Your Secondary Role (12:00-1:30pm): Anyone that is at Level 3 or above in only ONE OF leading or following should take this class before taking the later switch class. This is also a great opportunity even if you can't attend the later switch class!

2. Switching Leading and Following in Casino Partnerwork and Rueda (2:00-3:30pm): This is open to all dancers who took the crash course, or are already comfortable with all the RCR Level 1 and Level 2 moves in BOTH leading and following.   

We love that there are already many in the community that regularly lead and follow, and we are excited to offer this workshop.

Celebrate KPFA’s 77th Birthday at La Peña Cultural Center on Friday, March 27, 2026 with a dance lesson, dance perfomance, live music, and DJ sets!

The event will last from 8:00 pm to 1 am. $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

• 9:30 pm: Dance Performance by Rueda Con Ritmo

• 9:45 pm to 1 am, enjoy the evening of two live music sets by Julio Bravo & Salsabor, and curated DJ sets by DJ El de la Clave and Luis Medina.
