From March 6th through March 20th, Rueda Con Ritmo and Companía All Stars are offering an Intensive Dance Study Trip, and you can choose to join us for one or two weeks. Each week-long program features 15 hours of workshops in popular Cuban dance styles including Salsa, Rueda de Casino, Son, Rumba, and more. All classes will be taught by Jorge Luna Roque and members of the internationally acclaimed Rueda All Stars – click here to see a video of the All Stars. Dance classes will be split into different groups tailored to dancers of different levels of experience, with Cuban dancers assisting as well as teaching classes.
March 6th - 13th: Havana and Santiago
We'll begin our trip in Havana, where our teachers Companía All Stars have been invited to perform in the Fiesta del Tambor, a festival devoted to percussion and Casino and Rumba dancing, featuring many of the country's most famous dance bands. In Havana we'll have daily dance workshops with the All Stars and enjoy the rich music and dance of Cuba's largest city. After the Fiesta del Tambor wraps up we'll head to Santiago (Cuba's second largest city) to finish our first week.*
March 13th - 20th: Santiago, Oriente, and 15th Year Anniversary Gala
We will begin the second week of our trip in Santiago with Companía All Stars, who will be preparing for their 15th Anniversary Celebration, including an evening Gala of performances at the Teatro Heredia (one of Cuba's largest theaters), and what is sure to be a spectacular After Party. Besides being the home city of the All Stars, Santiago is known throughout Cuba as La Cuna de Son (the birthplace of Son), and during the second week we'll have the opportunity to enjoy the richness of Son in Santiago. We'll also travel to other parts of Oriente (the eastern part of Cuba) for even more unique cultural experiences.*
*Exact schedule of events is subject to change.
